Virtual Community Volunteer Income Tax Program

United Way Centraide North East Ontario REGISTER ONLINE United Way Centraide North East Ontario/Nord-est de l’Ontario (UWCNEO), in partnership with Canada Revenue Agency, is now offering a virtual Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVIT) to help low-income earners file their taxes at zero cost. The executive director of the Sudbury Community Legal Clinic welcomes the Ontario government’s pausing of residential evictions amid the pandemic, but says the half-measure doesn’t go far enough. “They haven’t considered at all a comprehensive rent relief program, although they have done that on the small business side,” she said.

No access to a phone or computer?   The YMCA, 140 Durham St., is offering drop-in phone and computer access 7 days a week between 12-5pm. The Sudbury Community Legal Clinic will be available for those seeking legal advice in our areas of law and using the YMCA services between 12:30-3:30pm from Monday to Friday until further notice.
